Quickstart
You don’t need a keyboard to start. A program file you exported from Nord Sound Manager, or one from the Nord User Forum, is enough.
Open a program file
Section titled “Open a program file”- Open OpenNord. It starts on the Library, on Programs.
- Press + Add and pick Import a file….
- Choose a Nord Stage program:
.ns4p(Stage 4),.ns3for.ns3p(Stage 3) or.ns2p(Stage 2). - The program opens on the right: its keyboard zones, one card per engine (piano, organ, synth), its effects and the samples it uses.
OpenNord keeps a copy of an imported file, so it is still there after a reload. It stays in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
Or connect a folder
Section titled “Or connect a folder”If you keep your Nord files in a folder, press + Add › Choose a folder…
instead. OpenNord reads the files where they are (subfolders and .ns4b
backups too) and copies nothing. See The Library.
Or connect your Nord
Section titled “Or connect your Nord”On a computer, in Chrome or Edge, plug the Nord in over USB and press Connect in the top bar. The programs on the keyboard appear in the Library under On Nord. See Connect your Nord.
Find your way around
Section titled “Find your way around”- The rail on the left: the Library lists (Programs, Presets, User Samples, Piano Samples), the sources, and the tools (Device, Compatibility).
- ⌘K (Ctrl K on Windows) jumps to any program, sample or page by name.
- On a phone, the tabs at the bottom do the same, and More opens the rest.
